Hi guys, this is my first post so I apologise for any mistakes. I looked around and I’m assuming this is the correct section for this but let me know.

I have been browsing occasionally as a non member picking some things up, however I need some advice to deal with a situation.

Basically, I met this girl where I train (we’re both gymnasts/ tumblers) and we got chatting and flirting. I N closed and we started talking over facebook and texting etc, after like a week of that I offered her a lift home and she said she wanted to invite me in but her place was mess, convenient scene as I couldn’t stay as I had to be up super early the following morning and I live an hours drive away. The Friday of that week I took her home again, hinted for an invite which was successful, I stayed over and we watched a movie and kissed. We really hit it off. Fast forward to this past week we were still getting on great but she had expressed worry about us being far away from each other (my previous relationship was long distance so this didn’t faze me) and I felt like she was pulling away from me, she flaked on me twice in the past week despite being upset we couldn’t spend more time together. I was hanging out with her and some of her friends after training on Friday, we spoke afterwards about random stuff and I knew she wanted to say something but was too scared. I had assumed this was going to happen, so after thinking about it for a little while during my drive home I called her and basically asked her ‘what the deal was because I feel shes pulling away’ but not in so many words. To make a long story shorter she felt she wasn’t ready for a relationship yet after having a bad one previously and that us being far away from each other didn’t help. She was really upset and also said she still liked me etc and was afraid I was going to hate her and not talk to her again.

My biggest problem now is that I still really like her and she likes me, but I don’t know how I should act around her? I’m going to have see her at least twice a week and I want her to still be interested, ideally I actually want to be with her.

Any advice here would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys.

Tl;dr:
Met a girl...started seeing her…we both like each other…she decided she doesn’t want a relationship…how do I act around her now?

Give her hugs every time you see her to diffuse tension, otherwise be distant. Don't have conversations with her. Don't text her. Don't call her. Talk to other girls in front of her if possible. She needs to miss you.

Thanks for the reply!

If she starts to initiate conversations, should I keep my talking to a minimum? But I'm also assuming I don't want to appear bitter?

Also, if she confronts me as to why I'm being distant what would be a wise move?

Just appear busy so that you can avoid long conversations. Also when speaking to her, allow yourself to be easily distracted by other people.

If she confronts you, say "I have a lot of friends already, and I've been really busy. Maybe it'd be different if we were dating but I have enough friends."

Ok thanks man, you've been a big help!

If this thread doesn't die, can I feel free to post more questions in it?
