If she brings a friend, she doesn't consider your meeting a date. Or she not only doesn't consider it a date, but she wants to hook you and her friend up. Or she just may be a dumbass. Your call.
Just tell her not to, because you'd rather concentrate on her only. Voilá.
^ This. If I wanted to spend time with a guy I'd never invite a friend along, unless she doesn't quite feel comfortable with you yet. She's probably just telling her friend "whatever, free drinks"
I've actually done this a few times in the past, except I'm a bit more sneaky about it. A friend of mine wanted to hook up with a guy that was interested in me. I didn't want him, he wasn't my type so I told her I'd get the hook up going.
Chick trick: (Not sure if it's proven or not, but I've done it once based on my own common sense) I wore very little make up on the date, jeans, etnies and a graphic t. He invited me to a pretty popular bar, so I texted my friend and told her to meet us there. I was polite but as boring as possible without him wanting to walk away, When she showed up, I could tell he was disappointed that I pulled the chick move "HEEEEY GIRLFRIEND!" but when he saw her bubbly personality and how fuddy I was being that night they hit it off pretty well- made up the "oh my sister needs me to pick up my niece trick"
I'm not really familiar with MPUA (or FPUA to be honest) but if you can't get her alone, maybe consider bringing a wing or drop it unless she's really worth the effort.
