My friend invited a few girls over to his apartment last night before going to some bars. I am a senior, and he a junior. They were freshmen. When they came in, I immediately threaded by saying, did you see those carolers outside? they weren't even spreading cheer at all, they were only singing to get beer and alcohol. Of course, they told me about times they had seen carolers and I stopped them and said, "how do you feel about guys wearing ugg boots?" to multiple thread. I had seen a guy wearing ugg boots last month with jeans tucked into them, and I told them. They were engaged and started asking me questions about myself. At this point, I decided my target would be a girl in a very colorful dress. However, her friend was asking me all the questions and was grooming herself next to me on a couch.

I get tired of answering questions about my studies, so I stopped her again and gestured to a pie on the table. "I'm giving you both a task, and you must promise to perform." "What?" My friend was gaming a blond in a chair nearby. I tried to make them distract him while i hit him with a pie. We laughed and now the girls were both into me. The quiet one asked me if I was done with exams, and I said, "Oh, you can speak. Fuck, I thought you were mute" loud enough for everyone to hear.

They were forced to engage with me, because my friend was with their friend. However, I felt good about the interaction.

When we went to the bars, they became more reserved and I just lost interest talking to them. I think I was trying to game too hard at the bars. I was leaning in too much. Also, at a dance club we went to, the two girls danced with each other and I wanted to do something with the target, but I could not figure out a way to make it happen. Thoughts?

You could open adjacent sets up and build social proof at the bar, or go to the dance floor and dance in between them to create competition. Or you could just sit back and watch them dance. Just make sure your not devaluing yourself by not socializing while you watch them. Hope this helps.
