And by that, I mean very unexpectedly calling or text messaging someone long after getting their number or having any contact with them. Potentially very effective because it creates a sense of familiarity, like you're reconnecting with an old friend... and they might want to give you another chance if they rejected you or flaked in some way, etc.

I was just browsing through the hundreds of numbers on my phone the other day when I thought, hey, what the heck, let's see if any of these former number closes would respond... and some of them have. Usually just "Who is this?", but sometimes a little bit further. If anyone else has tried this, what were your results? Now I just have to figure out how to turn reconnecting through text into dates. I usually don't call to talk on the phone... should I?
