Social awkwardness is a hard one to overcome. Unfortunately you just have to suck it up and go talk to people. Random people.

Talk to people in stores , they are paid to talk to you. Start small and then work you way up using the openers that you find here on the forum. You have to train yourself to be social!

Walk around somewhere that's filled with girls. Smile and say "Hi" to each girl or set that passes you.

There was a similar post about AA not too long ago. The advice on that thread was to go to the mall. Ask every girl you see if there is a place that you can get tested for herpes around here, and then ask her on a date. Or ask a girl for directions but while doing so, NEVER make eye contact and only stare at her tits.

It is all about practice :)

When I go out, the first set is always tough. That's why i always screw up the first set. But after the first one, there will be a second set. Opening a second set is much easer. ANd so on... When I call it a night, and i opened sets (whether or not succesful) i go home satisfied.

Literally talk to anyone about anything,

When I wanted to overcome shyness, i started small by ask for direction or the time and once you realise people wont bite your head off for saying hi, it will give you a confidence boost!
