Ok I did this spontaneously today when I was walking home from a date with another girl. It was about 10 o clock at night and I could see a HB 9.5 approaching, walking the opposite way. I turned to her and say "excuse me do you know where west street is?"

HB 9.5 says "You take a left by the traffic lights blah blah blah"

[ I am making subtle eye contact with her as she points in the direction, she eventually finishes giving me the directions]

Me: "Thanks, actually I know where west street is, I stopped you cos I thought you were cute."

[me smiling and grinning as I say this, really I was shitting a brick]

HB 9.5 says: "awwwww"

Me: "My name is Jon by the way"

[Hold out my hand to shake hers]

HB 9.5 says: "My name is XXXX"

[She shakes]

Me : "We should grab a drink some time"

[At this point I have failed to lock in because there was nothing to lean against and I was still in the way walking pose, I notice HB body language start shift as she begins to carry on her journey and walk away]

HB 9.5 says: " I am sorry I got a boyfriend"

Me: "He can join us to if you would like"

HB 9.5: "hahhaha"

Me: "ok have a good night"


My I have asked 3 girl mates about this opener, but I am interested to get the communities input on it. If said totally confident and does it still sound a little AFCish??????

I wish I never agreed with you but when I read it over and even if it is said cheekily and confident it is still a little AFCish, the 3 girls I asked all responded by saying awwwwww, it would make my day if a guy said that to me. But in reality I know what a girl fantasies about and what she actually WANTS are 2 different thing. But transitioning to a DHV, like saying "I am just asking because I am meeting a friend for a drink".....makes me kind of cringe at the thought, mainly because I am usually direct (It is a UK thing). What about this???
