With social networking sites becoming predominant means of communication I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for an opener on facebook. Something to get the conversation started.

For me, 'poking' someone is a great tool - It's attention seeking, it gets you noticed. If someone pokes me, I always send them a cheeky private message along the lines of 'if you poke me one more time, it'll leave a brusie :P'.

What are your suggestions for openers on facebook or other social networking sites?
