This opener idea takes rejection and turns it to your favor. Here's how I would imagine it would go:
You start by opening directly with something, (possibly even making it seem a bit TOO direct). A few things could happen. First, it might actually work and you can go off on your usual methods. But if it doesn't work, you can act as if you are walking away and say something like "pleasure meeting you," then come back for a second and say "Oh, by the way this was part of a project I'm working on for my communications class where we have to intentionally make someone feel uncomfortable."
I got the idea from my actual communications class where we had to do exactly that. The idea is that there are certain social protocols that we all follow without thinking about them, which most of you probably already know. My project was to break one of these protocols and record the result. In my idea above, I would basically use the project as a topic of conversation AFTER she obviously rejects me, thereby reversing the frame of the entire previous interaction.
So think about this and let me know what you all think cause I'm still very new to the game. _________________ "I have always loved truth so passionately that I have often resorted to lying as a way of introducing it into the minds which were ignorant of its charms." -Giacomo Casanova

I think it's the only way i am doing direct game during the day, if i can get away with it without taking the chance of getting a bad reputation in college.

Its hard to say cause I took this one straight from my own experiences in my communications class, but you could probably pass it off as any psychological test or research type of thing. Since you're on this site, I think its safe to say that you are pretty interested in social psychology so you should be able to hold some kind of interesting conversation about it with her just to open her up and move on to other more personal topics.
Get creative with it!
