So i walked by the sprint kiosk and made eye contact with the HB8/9 as i just walked by. i was caught a little off guard so i gathered myself and came back... but by then she was working with another customer.

so i stood there next to the other customers waiting my turn and playing with the dummy phones (no other workers at the kiosk)... stood there for about 5 minutes and then her male coworker comes from some break and asks another person next to me if he needs help... i knew he'd ask me next if i needed help so i left. felt so CB there... it was also 9 pm and the whole mall was closing.

i'm pretty sure the girl will remember me if i try to come back tomorrow or some other time. i'm really irked i didn't just react when i first made eye contact. anyway, how should i approach the girl next time or should i pretend i was never there? i was just going to be direct and tell her I wasn't due for an upgrade, but i thought she was real cute and would like to take her out for lunch at the food court some time.

functional opener (that is what i would use for this situation)

"hey, do you know if the owner is hiring new staff?"
"how is the pay?"
"is it fun working here?"
"my last job was as a... bla bla bla"
start conversing.
