Mystery shows to approach in the same direction and kind of over your shoulder. But all in all it doesnt matter which angle you come from, as long as you dont come up directly behind because thats creepy...

Asking for directions works very well. I have designed my entire game around asking for directions and I rarely approach any other way unless the situation doesn't allow for it.

Also.. the hotter the girl is.. the more casual you need to come off. With girls in the 5 to 7 range you can use compliments like "You're really cute" or "I like your style".

With the really hot women its better to avoid commenting on their looks and go with something more casual like: "You seem really nice... lets grab some coffee sometime" or "You live in this area? Lets go for a walk sometime".
