A sales veteran was training a rookie to cold call. The Veteran made six cold calls and got blown out on everyone.

The rookie looked at the veteran and said "how are you still smiling, you failed to get anywhere."

The veteran replied, "I just made 120 dollars, if you average out all my calls I make one $200 sale every ten calls."

The rookie argued "but what if you don't make a sale for 100 calls"

The veteran looked at the rookie and said "a bad day doesn't make a bad week and a bad week doesn't make a bad month."

This can be related to pick up.

With ever approach you do brings you closer to your desired out come even if it is not with the first target.
