My buddy and I have been going to the gym a lot lately and I was curious as to what were decent openers? In this context usual openers seem out of place and unnatural.

You could ask her if she needs a spotter. Or ask her to spot you on a heavier lift. Or simply walk up to her and introduce yourself. I think people put way to much emphasis on openers. It seems to be something the pickup community over-exaggerates. Most girls won't even remember the first thing you say to them. Put more focus on body language and tonality. Communication is 93% non-verbal. Goodluck

I always liked asking the girl to spot me. It's even better if you're a smaller guy like me and she's even smaller

I have a friend who wears funny t-shirts to the gym such as Mr Angry and so on. He's definitely not at all alpha physically or particularly good looking (sounds mean but I'm being honest) though he gets girls laughing at them and then he jokes around with them. He probably talks to more girls like that than all the hot guys who would have to make an effort.

It's basically peacocking. Give it a try.

Yea, shirts are a good idea. My buddy wears shirts like "GTL- You know the deal" and "I know what you're thinking, And you should be ashamed of yourself" and they always get a laugh

It was a good thing I found this thread because I was going to start a new one.

Since I've started this game, every person I see I think about opening and starting a conversation with. I was at the gym today and I saw an HB8. I wasn't sure how to open her, and while I was breaking the three second rule someone beat me to it.

His approach was like so:

Guy: Hey, I think I've seen you around school.
HB: (takes out headphones) Oh ya?
Guy: Ya, I had a class with you with Mr. Whateverhisnamewas
HB: Ya I think so
Guy: Ya he was funny
HB: Ya (puts in headphones)

After watching this guy crash and burn it really makes me realize that gym bunnies are hard to pick up. This girl seemed to be a serious athlete and was there to work.

How would you open her? Take into consideration that you have one chance, and if you screw it up her headphones go right back in, so your routine must be gold.
