Here's a nifty little direct opener I came up with:

PUA: Hey.
HB: Um... hi?
PUA Don't you just hate it when you're (whatever she's doing) and someone random person just starts talking to you? I mean, the arrogance, right?
HB: Um... I dunno...
PUA See, I find the best thing to do is just indulge them. Life's too short not to meet new people, y'know?
HB: *answer*

I like this one because it accomplishes a few things right off the bat:
Makes it seem ridiculous that someone would refuse to meet a new person
Gives her an excuse to be talking to you (life is too short not to)
Immediately gives the impression that you talk to complete strangers like its nothing

I'm sure someone has used this in the past, but I haven't seen it documented. I don't usually open directly, but this is on the light side of direct openers since it doesn't immediately convey much interest. Works great on day game too, and is adaptable to literally any situation. The only drawback I have found is that it is slightly less useful on sets, but works wonders on lone HBs.

More sociable girls like to respond with a shit test, so be prepared to deal with an answer like "Well, I think it's best to just ignore them *wry smile*" to which I would respond with something like "That's cool, but let's try it my way for now"

If the HB doesn't hook and goes cold, I run this little tag:
PUA: Oh boy, now it's gonna get weird. You know, that awkward silence. Here it comes. *act like its coming from over your shoulder*
HB: ...
PUA: *inhale* Ahhhh, take it in. Life is a smorgasbord. Good and the bad, all that jazz. Aaannddd there it goes *wave goodbye to it*.

This lets her know that you are unfazed by the awkwardness of her response/lack of a response and are totally comfortable even when things get "weird." Plus, somehow, acknowledging the awkwardness of a moment in a funny way tends to make it vanish.

I feel like that one has too much thought behind it
