I like the introducing to your friend, but love the turning to her friend.
I love the turning to the friend response because it's almost exactly what I would do. You're calling her out, you're negging her, and you're showing her that you don't value what she said. Most importantly, she didn't really answer your question. She skirted it. Don't let her get away with that. She's lucky to have YOU talking to HER, and if she doesn't want to play along, then you get talking to her friend. Make her earn your time.
I know it's easier said then done. Don't think for a minute that during my off nights I don't get thrown by something that might seem elemental to you.
