I think its intresting and it also gives a good DHV. Basically i just ask, "what do you think is more attractive to women police or firefighters?" Most of the time firefighters will win and if she asks why then i can tell them how i was a firefighter, which is loaded with a shit ton of intresting stories and DHV. Any input on this?

Bringing it up too early (or having muppet friends who bring it up as soon as they can) just reeks of validation seeking to them turning what later on would be a good DHV into a DLV.
I always make them ask, whether i make a very vague comment about my work, introducing a friend who i trained through basic with ("What job did you train for?") or more usually it comes out as my reason to why i'm not drinking ("how come you're not drinking" "I'm on call/at work in the morning and hangovers are the last thing you want if we get a decent job" "What do you do?").
Thats my preference at least because i've repeatedly seen it being mentioned by others 'trying to help' to people i've been talking to, works great though when you leave it that little bit longer it should be the icing to an already attractive cake, not the cake itself.

I know it can be hard sometimes when you're reading blanks from a girl, but try to avoid spilling it at all costs. Especially in small cities, it tends to get back to your co-workers.
