Hey, fellas. I'm a newbie still tryin'a get over my biggest hurdle: opening. I feel comfortable once I'm in a set, but opening has always seemed like an insurmountable task.

Anyway, I've come to the conclusion that one reason most openers I've read from other people don't feel right for me is that they're not congruent. They're not things that I'M genuinely interested in asking people or doing to them. They don't come from the heart.

My question is, how can I come up with openers based on my tastes are interests. I know what they are; I just don't have the formula to turn them into questions or comments I can use to open a set. What can I do? Thanks.

As much as I appreciate any suggestions you have based on those, my real desire is to learn how to come up with openers based on those things myself. Is there some kind of formula for turning interests into questions you can ask strangers?
