This is a good one. OG Mystery Method shit. I'm not sure whether Apple paid him for product placement or not, but on one of his vids he talked about the PUA value of an iPhone, partly for its camera.
Also, instead of going right for the target, you can first take a picture with an obstacle or three and enlist the HB to snap it, utilizing the frame to maybe neg her a bit if your calibration calls for it.
"Hey guys you're having way too much fun! This is totally a Kodak moment! Hey, can you snap this? You know how to work one of these things? Button on the top-left. Everybody say Friday Night!"
He goes on to say that a camera can be good not only as an opener, but to use as a grounding sequence as well. Keep a small number of DHV photos (rock climbing, holding your niece, playing guitar, getting mobbed by horny blonds, etc.) on an album and have some little story soundbites to go along with them.
Lastly, if you are using an iPhone or other smart phone in lieu of a normal camera you can also make use of the Google Earth app as a grounding sequence.
"Hey, check this out. You ever heard of Google Earth? My buddy just showed this to me. See here? That's my place. You can probably see my cat, Grover, in the window if you look hard enough. If you're lucky maybe you'll get to meet him."
Of course, that would hopefully not be one big monologue, but instead components of a two-way banter.
I'm sure there are a ton of other apps that could be turned into PUA fodder. However, I haven't yet invested in a smart phone so I wouldn't know! I'd love to hear if anyone can run with this.
I see a post titled "PUA friendly iPhone apps". Anyways...
Good post! Reminds me I gotta utilize this more.
