I was just wondering, are there any tips out there for a non-US University type? In Australia, it's more like a serious, business version of school. People are there to learn and that's it (or so it seems); they go home after the classes with minimal interaction apart from studying or working on assignments. There are no parties or fraternities or anything like that. As there are still the social circles like school but whoever doesn't want to learn just doesn't turn up, the frame is quite serious. As such, there's not the interaction that you read of in the US University guides. Also, minor point, but there's not the 'sports scholarship' / cheerleader people that I see on US TV shows. Everyone's there because of their intellectual strengths, so everyone really wants to learn, = no fun.

Specifically, Any tips for lectures (given that everybody is aware of each other and there are strict social circles that I guess you can't break)?

Waiting outside lectures?

Bus Stops?

Food Courts?

Coffee Shops?

Library?

I suppose it's the same as 'regular', day to day game, but everybody seems to be in a 'study' frame, so there's not the fun and boredom that would help with gaming.

Tips??
