Is their a good line or opener to stop them from what they are doing on the phone and let them focus on you? When a cell phone is involved before the opener, I feel that the chances of success is really low. Thanks for your help.

you cant control the whole situation because you dont know the situation, if she is on the phone to her boyfriend, or mum or even best friend, she is not going to stop that from a guy approaching her,
walk away, plenty more targets that are not on their phone
sending a text is different though, that will only last a few minutes and then you can approach _________________ peace, love and empathy

| Offline | | New to MPUA Forum | Joined: Fri Sep 25, 2009 8:45 am Posts: 12 Location: San Francisco | | once if i recall correctly, i accompanied my friend outside the club so he can smoke. he didn;t have a lighter, and i saw a girl talking on her phone while smoking also. i made eye contact, smiled, and signaled her to come here(she was like 5 steps away). i made the lighter hand gesture and she kindly passed one while she was still on the phone. in that short time i can guess that her conversation was not a serious one, so when i returned her lighter i gave her a high 5 right after. i think the high five was the thing that kept her around us, i really dont know, but it felt like she would have left if i didn't give the high 5. then a lot of blah blah blah that led to nothing cus i suck at closing.
