so that's my question.

I run an opener of opinion, lets say the 'floss' opener from The Pick Up Artist (didn't use it, I mean as an example) and I get that from the girl, she/they have already been told that opener. Did that happend to any of you guys? What do you answer back?


I've personally never been there but I was trying to come up with openers and this problem popped into my head. Answers and contribution welcome

I modify everything I read, and never ever use something verbatim, unless it's THAT good, and fairly new.

Canned material is good when it's new. Other than that, I just go with whatever the first thing that pops into my head. ("Hey, come over here," usually works.)

If she catches you out INSTANTLY stack forward and continue or switch to another opener.

If she says something like "Was that a NEG?". Blow her off with something like "Yeah whatever". Completely ignore her jugdement and carry on..

She will soon forget

An opening is only designed to initiate the conversation, so even if she say's I've heard that one before you've accomplished the goal. I have had this happen before, let's say with the floss opening, just indicate to her in a joking manner that flossing is important and you're glad to see more people are taking interest in it. Then continue your routine.

Here are some suggestions just in case something else comes up. I've had this happen to me quite a bit; I live in a small city in upstate NY. Sat. night, my wing approached a set with an opening I made up for valentines day, we moved on to the next bar (which is literally next door), and I used the same opening on them not knowing my wing tried less than an hour before. I got called out and simply said "oh, you must have met one of my friends then, what resolution did you discovery?" I'm pretty sure this will work in any situations, even if it wasn't your wing.

I agree with stormy though, don't use the common openers except for last resort. This might be a good time to make one up, try it out, and let us know how it works for you.

Yeah you're right, openers and routines that mainstream aren't the most auspicious of materials to use. My case is different though. probably at least half of the people in the US knows this stuff seen on VH1, but where I live is like, you ppl knowing about japanese or russian television..

I still try to come up with my own material but there's always that risk if its canned

I agree with Paradiseracing, when u open a target u want to create a conversation, and even if she has replied with, that someone has already said that to her...u've still opened her all u have to do is just change around how u respond and carry on. I've had bad experience with canned openers so generally i try to use my own off the top of my head
