This is my first post so I am going to throw in a little introduction before my questions. I am a freshman at the University of Wyoming. I was introduced to the community by (as I am sure many others were) reading The Game. Since then I have been getting my hands on as many other books on the subject as I can and lurking on these forums. I will be the first to admit that I am a beginner and I am taking things in small steps. My current goal is to get over AA as much as possible by talking to girls I see whether I am interested or not (good way to get over AA?)

This brings me to two scenarios I would appreciate some pointers on getting a conversation going.

1st There is a street you have to cross to get to most of the classes here, and often times there will be a large group of people standing there waiting for the light to change. I often see HB's I would like to talk to there but am unsure how to start a conversation.

2nd Last semester there was a HB 7 I sat next to in my math class. We talked a little then but not too much because i had a gf at the time and didn't want to be flirting. Now I see her every other day at lunch and would like to approach her but again I'm not quite sure how to get the ball rolling.

First an intro on myself as well.

Got into the game more or less six months ago, but not neerly as agressive as i wished. Basically that means a lot of reading online, but not enough sarging. between then and now, only 1 f-close, and 2 k-closes. (that i can remember off the top of my head)

So my first suggestion is to read less and act more.

Tomorrow I am going on what ppl seem to gall a "svengali run". Basically go into a first bar, and just saying hi and smiling to everyone inside. Then take the positive energy from that, and go to the next bar in a good mood.

In relation to the girls waiting to cross the street, i would suggest a comment like
PUA: I blame Cars, what happened to saving the environment?
or
PUA: Why dont they fly already, so we dont have to wait as much?

Basically some stupid remark (say it in a serious manner), but then wait a bit and start laughing. If they smile or laugh too, then go from there.
