whether she's taller than me. This has been happening to me a lot lately but i am confused on whether it's an IOI or shit test.

It all depends on tone. If it's in a mocking tone (even if she's smiling), it's without a doubt an IOD. If you honestly don't feel that, though, it's quite possible that she's negging you (without knowing it as a "technique", but with the same end) -- thus, probably a favorable act.
