the best thing to do would be to do 1 of 3 things, or all 3!
1. people get over fear by massive exposure. approach 25-50 sets in a night (5 second or less interactions) something small like general compliments or "cheers" - i do 50 sets to warm up for the night. kind of like stretching before a workout. get a counter app on your phone.
2. stand at a place people walk past a lot and do a lot of small approaches,
I.E. the front door - give general compliments or "cheers" because you arent approaching, they are approaching you.
3. if those are too much for you then while you walk past people, just make eye contact until it naturally breaks from walking past the person. do that until you are comfortable with approaching. also flashing smiling can build confidence because people smile back because people mirror body language they see
