So, I was pulling into the garage at my office this morning and this very cute girl appeared to be having some trouble with her tire. I pulled over, got out of my car and asked her if I could help. She had positive body language towards me... opened up nicely... told me her friend had been using her car and had left the key on the tire, but she couldn't find it.

SHE WAS ONE THE DAMN PHONE, and I had no clue how to ask for her number... now I am pissed I didn't just do it... but I really couldn't find the opening. Is a girl really going to give you her number while she is on the phone with another (presumably) girl? Seems like it'd be extremely awkward, right?

So I grabbed my balls (I am new to this), approached, had initial good body language then failed to close the digits b/c I didn't know how to handle the situation.

How do you guys handle this?

Wait till she's off the phone before approaching?

You can't open a girl while she's talking to someone on the phone, man.

In this situation I would've waited until she was off the phone since she was dealing w/ the car tire.

But in almost any other situation you can approach with, "tell them you'll call em back i wanna talk to you for a sec". The girls are usually more than happy to hang up with their mom for a couple of minutes to have a little chat w/ a guy that intrigues them.

get her off her phone before you ask for her phone number

dont beat yourself up over this too bad dude there are a lot of other girls on this
