I've never really done bars during the day before and I found it hard to calibrate to the whole daytime bar vibe. Very low energy, very chilled out, mostly 2 sets in relaxed conversations.
So any advice on how to open/approach? I went for the Roosh V style "elderly approach" as he calls it (very indirect, low key) a couple of times but didn't seem to be going anywhere. A more night game direct approach just didn't feel right. It felt weird, not quite day game, not quite night game.

"Hey, I saw you from over there and you looked really interesting. I wanted to say something to you... you dress funny." The girl will usually signal if she's game or not.
It might be that you're not mastering the push-pull dynamic just yet. Can you give an example of what's happening in your sets after you open? _________________ The ultimate lesson of psychoanalysis is that human life is never "just life": we are possessed by the strange drive to enjoy life in excess, attached to a surplus which derails the ordinary run of things.
