There is this really cute tech that works there. Usually I drop the psych patient off, they walk into the room and I say hi to the girl and she takes the vitals while i am leaving. There are always several people in the room so isolating her isn't really an option. I have a couple of theories on how i should i approach.
1. Go Direct - Tell her to walk with me to click me out of the door (the door needs someone who works there to buzz you out at the front door or at the nurses station.) I would tell her to walk with me and punch me out at the door. This is where i would go in direct and say "Hey you are really cute, I see you ever so often but never get a chance to really talk to you. I need to know everything about you." Wait for her to respond make some small talk and then get the number
2. Go Indirect - I've already made some small talk. I told her she should hop on the stretcher and exscape with me. She laughed but It didn't go to much further than that. I could just bring up something random and work on her over time. Although its completely random when I see her. Could be weeks without.
Whats your opinion?

Gradually figuring out more about her is appreciated. Give her something to think about while your gone.

The comfort is probably not there (though I can't really tell from your post).
Workplace dating has land mines... If it backfires you still gotta see the girl all the time... if it works out and you end up breaking up, you still gotta see the girl all the time...
And if she finds it unprofessional or against policy, she can report you.... if your hospital even has such policies.
