I've been observing direct infield approaches on You Tube, and I must say, they have to stand a good deal more away from the target, and they can't be too playful. It's useful to see how it is done, but I can now better see its drawbacks.
That said, I've heard (from Savoy's system) it pays to be more direct in day, but it just seems direct is more natural, and organic.
