Almost everywhere I go people tell me that I look familiar. Literally 40% of the time I meet a new person (guy or girl) they tell me I look familiar, or they ask, "Have I met you before?"

It's pretty strange because I know I have not met these people and I haven't really seen anyone who I think looks like me. Anyways, I think this is a gift that I need to learn how to properly use to my advantage as a conversation starter that helps me escalate.

I'm in college and have come up with a response that I have used multiple times at parties. Once a girl tells me I look familiar and I respond by saying we haven't met, I say "You're telling me you met another guy as good looking as me??"

This almost always gets a laugh and it displays my funny/cocky attitude. What should I say next? How can I keep playing off it?

Or what are some alternatives?

I feel like if I master this issue I can use natural gift to my advantage. I wonder if any of you guys out there have experienced this.

You could try "You must have met my evil twin ......." and make up a funny name for him, or, "Wow, that must have been my doppelgänger, do you have any idea how long I have been looking for him?" which is a lot more funny if she had watched "How I met your mother"... Or you could say "That's my lookalike that I use to throw off the paparazzi when I'm feeling less of an attention whore"...

I like the evil twin idea! Then maybe go on to say "He's actually a sweet guy once you get to know him! I hope you didn't take advantage of him!" Definitely want to have some planned negs and DHV spikes to toss in along with that.
