I just wanted to drop a word or two about openers. So of you who have been doing this a while may know this and others may not. I've heard advice from Mystery, El Topo, and others recommend something that has recently hit home with me. When you use openers you have to practice them several times, over to be congruent.

Mystery says in an audio series I heard that he has a good friend that is a comedian. Something funny will happen to him and he'll put it in his stand up routine. He'll tell the joke and it bombs. Now the amateur comedian would say, that joke sucks lets take it out. However, its the professional that knows it takes a good dozen times or so of saying it to make it congruent and good again.

So in short gentleman if you go out and use an opener and it doesn't work for you immediately hang on to it. Make sure it wasn't some other factor. Stick with it for a while use it, and try it in different venues. Get good at delivering it. Then if it still fails, find another one.

I still stick to my main two openers that I use for a few reasons. One I know they work, and the set will hook, and lastly they are specific to me and my life so I know they'll be congruent. Women will pick up on that and thats why they work. This continues beyond openers to you entire routine stack. Use the same stack and same negs even to keep some consistency in your game when you start. This makes it easier to see if you are improving.

Blindfold Opener

"I need a female perspective on something...I can only stay a second cause I'm with friend...and My good friend met a girl downtown last weekend, and they "clicked" so they hung out for a few hours. Anyways, now she wants to pick him up for a "romantic" evening, but the "hitch" is she wants him to wear a blindfold. Would you do it?"

If Yes- What if my friend ends up abducted by aliens, joins the circus, or hurt?

Yes Alernative- "You'd let someone you'd known 2 hours blindfold you, weirdo !"

No- "What if he misses out on a great time?"

"Let me get a woman's opinion on something...I can only stay for a moment...and My good friend (Insert Girls Name) met a guy on myspace and they've been talking for a while, they seem to like each other. Do you think she should meet him?"

Yes- "What if she ends up hurt, raped, abducted by aliens? I couldn't live with myself.

No- "What if she misses out on the love of her life because of me?"
