Hey, I"m just wondering more about story telling. I'm trying to become a author but in PU instead of telling a long ass story, wouldn't be easier to make it short? I just came up with something just now. Haven't tested it but when I get a chance I will. Since I identified myself as a writer I could say:

HER: So what do you do?
ME: Well, when I was younger I really wanted to become a actor. I had this thought in my head that I could act really good, however grew out of that stage. When I was in my teens I wanted to become a director or a screenwriter producing great thrilling horror stories with some humor in it just to ease the tension. I believe that humor is a cure of negativitiy. Just like in Patch Adams, did you ever see that movie?
HER: Oh, yeah! It was funny!
ME: Yeah, I know! I made me laugh so hard but it was so sad at the end. I didn't like when the woman got killed by that man. It sucked and I was so sad! However, I thought the movie was great. It inspired me to do something with my life. So now, I just got my book published by HighTide Press, went though seminars about FAS (Fetal ALcohol Syndrome) and talked about my challages and obsticles with having FAS. So, right now I would say that I just ventured into the writing buisness and achieved some part of my dream. What do you do?

if you guys are on a first or second date, id rather focus on being more mysterious and interesting, and so i wouldnt divulge what i do readily. Id say something like oh im an underwater basketweaver, or im an illegal arms dealer, or oh im unemployed and i live in my mom's garage. and say it while having a totally serious face. its funny and allows you guys to build comfort. and if she keeps prying ask her "why do you want to know so bad? your not a gold digger are you? cuz i am. im looking for a girl whose rich, i want to marry her, divorce her and talk half of everything she has" experiment with that kind of stuff, i love it.

It's ok, I think it's way too much talking on your part. Normally with stories I try to get the girl involved as much as possible, to not bore her. Of course, the exception is an incredibly interesting story.

Then again, I didnt see that in your story. And again, please dont take this as offensive as I'd rather give you an honest answer and see you succeed than a bullshit answer and watch you fail.
