Build initial attraction before cold approach?

Past night I approached one girl out of blue. Long time ago my rule was first show up so girl can notice me that I exist and then approach. My question is if this “show up” as I called it then is same thing what PUA masters call “initial attraction” or “build attraction”. I talk here about “get noticed” not talking to girls.
