I mean, I find they work if a girl is mildly hooked, but for those girls who are totally not into you in a cold approach at a bar it seems like a "how can you say 'we'll never work out', I'm not attracted to you at all" thing on their part. Maybe tailor the disqualifier to be calibrated to the situation. Keep plowing but somehow DHV?
