Funny and effective way of dealing with AA

Unfortunately, I still sometimes (albeit very rarely) get 'heavy feet' when Im about to do a cold approach. I had tried almost everything, from reframing Approach Anxiety to become exciting, to slapping myself afterwards if I chickened out. Then I finally realized something, almost like an epiphany.

I had a flashback back when I was in the 6th grade. I had to give out a public speech in my church of about 500 people. Naturally, I was as nervous as a motherfucker :P No matter how much I memorized my speech, I still had a massive case of the butterflies (sounds familiar?)

Well anyways, before it was my turn to go up, my mum gave me some advice.

She told me, "Just imagine the people down there wearing their underwear over their heads. Then you will realise that theyre not as scary as they look."

So I took her advice, went up to the podium, visualised all the people wearing underwear over their heads, and couldnt help but crack a smile. Suddenly, they seemed just very ordinary to me, and I gave my speech as if I was reciting it back at home.

So the lesson that I learnt was to just imagine any HB wearing her panties over her head, and she just didnt seem so intimidating to me anymore. It gave me a massive confidence boost for my speech, and I still use it up until this this day.

Try it out guys, and tell me what you think! (Just resist the urge to burst out laughing in the girls face hahaha) :)

That's a funny one. Anything that gets you to go is good.

I just try to learn to be comfortable with the feeling. Anything that is really important to a person is going to create anxiety before starting: public speaking, jumping out of an airplane, an important presentation at work, or approaching a hot girl.

For me it's not the goal to not have anxiety, but to not let it stop me.

for me its the 2 hour rule lol
its okay to screw up mess up fuck up not worry just walk around looking and not scream at yourself if u didnt approach

cuz the first 2 hours are practice, the only thing thats unnaceptable is to go home.
then somewhere before an hour bam an approach then momentum :)

Yea, I genuinely feel that whatever works best for each of us is the method we should stick to. Anyways, it never hurt to try out new ideas.

When I had AA when I first started out (my stomach performing somersaults) , I just chose to ignore it and approach. However, I would give off AFC behavior, like sweating, having a shaky voice, and trembling with fear.

When I tackled the AA with this method, I just saw the girl, no matter how hot she was, as any other person. In my minds eye, she looked pretty retarded wearing her panties on her head, so her 'scare factor' would be reduced greatly.

If anybody who still suffers from feeling nervous, I highly recommend he try it out. It worked wonders for me, so hopefully it will for you too ;)

Hi,

Everybody has approach anxiety- it doesn't matter who you are. Few epiphanies I have had about the subject.

1. I realised that as I forced myself to do approach after approach even when being told to fuck off, that my brain couldn't keep putting me into emergency mode over a long period of time. The panic I felt considerably decreased. Initially yes, I felt scared but as I did my approaches I noticed how my fear went to shit.

2. I stopped trying to removed fear from the equation. I kinda accepted it would be around for the duration.

I think the moment you accept it and "do it anyways" you win.

Eradicating AA is impossible. We all will feel anxiety at times.

We can only limit AA and reduce it drastically (as I have over the years), but it cannot be eradicated.

Even Mystery spoke about this in a video he had years ago where he said he was feeling AA.

Being excited alone can bring on a bout of AA.

Reframing and looking at hot girls as ugly ducklings, that is a good way to deal with AA. But once you have this preconceived notion that this girl is the hottest thing since sliced bread, then you will fail!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I understand that we can never be free from AA totally (refer to my first post, I still get heavy feet from time to time).

Thankfully, I found this method the best to reduce it. I just thought I would share it for the guys that are finding AA is killing their game.
