I talked to some strangers on the street the past two days. I didn't feel anxiety, however, when I said "Hi" to females who was walking to the opposite direction, following a little cheeky smile, most of them acted as if she didn't hear my "Hi". Some looked scared. I said "Hi" to a female when she was almost 2 meters away from me. Because she and I were walking when I said "Hi", so 1 second after I said "Hi" , she was already passed by me and in back of me. Maybe I should not show a cheeky smile. When I said "Hi" to a female, it seemed that she had no facial response, I think my cheeky smile was automatically shown to cover the awkwardness I felt. My smile was not too cheeky, but it was a little cheeky(or unnatural). Did my facial expression after my "Hi" act as a self-fulfilling prophecy to tell her that I am an evil person so she should ignore me? Well, even I didn't show a slightly exaggerated smile, I still got no response. But before I realized it, the female had passed by me and disappeared from the road in front of me. What are your comments?
