what I usually do is use style's U- shaped vs C-Shaped smiles
say "wow thats interesting, you have a C-shaped smile"
her: oh really?
you: yah. I read in a magazine that girls with C-shaped smiles are more likely to be good girls and girls with U-Shaped smile are more bad ass. Is that true, are you a good girl ?"
.... go from there.

In your scenario, you have the girl interested and possibly smiling/laughing because of the fact she looks similar to one of your ex-girlfriends. Use that and go from their.
