| Okay, here's a couple suggestions I would try:
1. Waive to her and shout some female name. Once you have her attention, approach her, but once you're a few feet away, begin to apologize explaining that you thought she was someone else. Scenario:
You: Hey! MUG! *Waiving* (Made Up Girl)
HB: *Eye Contact*
You: *Approach* - Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you were somebody else.
HB: Nope/Oh, no problem/I am
You: Hey, how do you feel about [subject]?
2. Walk past her and call to her to ask her if she dropped this item; which could be something like a pencil, or something you have stuffed in your pocket. Assuming she'll be honest, she'll say no and that leaves you to begin chatting about whatever. Scenario:
*Walk past her*
You: Excuse me miss, did you drop this?
HB: Uhh, no, I don't think so.
You: Lucky me then.
You: Hey, do you like [subject]?
At that point things are opened up and she's ready to talk. Try to keep her talking as much as possible, find out her interests and have her splurge. Maintain eye contact as much as possible while listening and smiling; you're looking for any Indicators of Interest (IOI). If she begins to stumble or slow down when she's talking, that's a clear IOI and your chance to begin escalating.
Note that this is all in theory, I have never practiced any of these suggestions. If you do decide to try one of these, please tell me how it goes, I would be eager to know.
