Hi guys,
there is a girl i like, but the problem is she is very shy (she never had a boyfriend, as far as i know). I have known her for some time now (prob few years, but we were just acquaintances till recently).We went for a drink, but every time i tried to approach her she distanced her self.
I know you guys usually don't go for those types of girls, but i would really appreciate if you can help me or give me some kind of advice.

Why do you think the problem is with her? What were you doing when you tried to approach her?

Didn't say the problem is with her, but her being shy isn't helpful (at least not to me, with my current knowledge and experience)
We went for a drink, had a great time (we both laughed and joked with each other) but every time i went for hand or anything like that she backed off. Also i was flirting with her, but she didn't rally reply to any of that (not positively nor negatively)
P.S. i know some girls pretend to be shy and all, but this one really is.

I'm just saying that it's been years that you've known her and only been acquaintances. Did she have an expectation that you would be trying to take it further. You've established who you are with her and this could be a huge shift in your dynamic.

I know its not ideal position, but we are going to go out later this week and i have no idea what to do or what not to do

You're still avoiding what I'm talking about. What does she think is going on? If she thinks you guys are friends going out, she may be fine with that idea. If she knows that this is a date, all you have to do is be persistent.

Didn't mean to avoid the question. To be honest i am not sure if she sees me just as friend or not, but i'll try to be more persistent and hope for best.
