So im very new to the game, went out with the sole purpose to attempt opening and see if i got into conversations, it took a few drinks to even think about an attempt (i know i need to work on this, drinking heavily and sarging do not mix), but i got into a few conversations, built a little rapport and all was good, i was riding high.

Then towards the end of the night (fairly tipsy by this point) i opened a 2 set with jealous GF, then unaware of the AMOG BF in another part of the establishment, he came in and i thought he was going to put me in hospital, shouting angrily!! I tried to convince him i was just getting opinions, but he did not back down, so how can you deal with a very angry AMOG, or is it just a case of run and hope for the best?

He might hit you so you have to either be willing to deal with that, or you need to get distance and safety

While getting distance and safety you can neg him

"ill go get you a tissue for the foam thats coming from your mouth"

but he might attempt to close the distance if you do that, so you'll need to know where your safety measures are

you could always bluff confidence in fighting as well

I dont really think too much about that since I know that a small percentages of girls i approach will include a belligerent boyfriend, but my martial arts buddy would probably just stare at them while walking into the bathroom, take him out, then leave afterwards, not even caring about the girl

Or maybe he'd say some story like he's sick what are you doing with that loser come with me bla bla but honestly that's too much work and too risky bro!
