Personally opening with "gay" in anyway just feels like a weak and femmish opener.

But, I like to come in as a man and let her know I am one, not one worried if he looks "gay".

Its not a bad opener, but I would switch the word gay out with something else.

Also just by simply asking a women about yours looks at all comes off as a little insecure.

Im not going to lie I have asked women in the past on my looks but never as an opener. (mainly friends or women that are of no interest of me)

Never truly tested one, but you never know. Everyones different.

Lol i honestly dont know the whole fascination with the gay opener. I havent even heard of it until just yesterday actually. The reason was because my buds were bustin my ass saying i look gay so i thought that it would make a funny opener, and googled it, and it just happened to already be one. I would much rather be natural with everything, but I like having a kinda safety net if things arent workin right and i cant really think of what to say. You got any simple openers that dont sound lame and can lead into a nice convo? or like any tips on what to say if i just want to approach saying "Hey, hows it goin?". Like i want to do that, but i dont know where to go after. Any help?

I think it's pretty terrible to be honest. First, you asked them if you can ask them something. Don't do that.

If you're going to use it it needs to be "Guys, I need your opinion. Does this haircut make me look gay?" But even then, to me, it seems like a DLV. You're implying people think you're homosexual looking; this isn't a good thing. If you're wearing something flamboyant to peacock you shouldn't acknowledge that it's out there; you're just rocking a badass t-shirt (or whatever).

If you still insist on using this opener, you need to root it.

"Hey guys, I need your opinion. Does this haircut make me look gay? I'm asking because I've go to take my best friend's little sister to her prom and she made me get it cut like this because everyone her age think it's cool, but I'm not so sure. What do you think?"
