University Receptionist - direct or indirect?

There's a receptionist at my university that I've seen a couple of times and I want to approach her tomorrow. I am 20 and I am guessing she is late twenties.

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on the sort of approach that would work well. I was thinking I might go direct like saying I saw her, she looked nice, etc. and saying I'm in a bit of a rush and trying to # close her. Do people think this would be a good idea or would it be better if I went indirect, for example with an opinion opener?
