I get the same train home everyday and have picked up some vibes from a hot girl. She also always gets the same train, and we have exchange the odd look and smile.
Thing is I have never had the excuse to open her, and feel it would look a bit strange if I approached her out of a platform full of people.
Any advice would be much appreciated

Then it's very simple just go up to her and say that you think she looks cute and wanted to talk to get to know her. She's not stupid she knows you like her.
