I've seen a huge influx of Dance floor game posts in this thread in the past few days and I've gone through all of them but none of them seem too applicable to my situation and seem more useful in club situations.

I go to UCSB and there are pretty much two major types of parties. There are house parties you have to be invited to to get into, which typically feature some alcohol in a kitchen, an area where people are talking/playing some BP, and dance floor with hip hop music. At these parties, approaching is fairly straightforward, etc.

The type of party I'm having trouble with approaching are like this:
-no alcohol
-outside overlooking a cliff overlooking an ocean
-almost exclusively dubstep music
-not a high percentage of people grinding
-open to everyone, so people who are walking by hear the music and just walk in and start dancing.
-not much of an area to have a conversation

How would you guys recommend approaching at parties like this?

you have two choices:

1.bring value, bring a strong frame which will set you apart.

2."entourage gameplay":bring ppl,lets say 5 HB's and 3-4 guys,fun guys.(by doing this you become the party).

most parties people are guarded, and they think everybody is looking at them... What we used to do me and my friends was when nobody was dancing we would dance and have fun, then the girls opened us most of the time, then we go into dance and escalation... Be the fun, cool guys that is bringing fun to the party..

I understand the idea of entourage gameplay, but I haven't quite built my social web up to that level yet, and once it is at that level, I'd ideally be going to more house parties that you have to be invited to instead of these random rave type parties.

How would one go about showing value/frame in a situation like this, where it's just a bunch of people dancing and jumping with almost no conversation?

@Skills360: The problem here is that at this kind of party almost everyone is dancing, but not with each other.

what is it like a rave???????? it sounds like it if that is the case you have to do regular type game and open, hey you girls look like fun, had to come here and introduce myself and my friends this is mike, this is robert, and then bluff talk, get them to dance and hopefully escalate.. if they are not feeling you and your friends eject, well nice to meet you guys will be around!
