We are all well aware that upon the approach we naturally develop reasons that contradict our aims. In the aim of reaching our potential it is crucial that we counteract such thoughts with positive but realistic reasons. If we don’t we put a lid on our full potential.
Red ink’s 7 reasons to approach:
1) The 3 second rule in itself
2) You cannot loose at all. If you get blown out you gain an experience that you learn from. If you succeed then... you succeed! However if you don’t attempt the chances of failure are guaranteed 100% .
3) Lets predict the worse possible outcome, a rejection. A week from now will that effect you in anyway, will that feeling of embarrassment still linger when the interaction is forgotten?
4) It may lead to a successful relationship you can never actually predict how good it could turn out.
5) How badly would it hurt to see the same girl a week from now with a guy much worse looking than you??...
6) Prove it to yourself. YOU KNOW you can do it. You are just scared of the negative outcome that could possibly happen instead. Disengage yourself from the outcome to much anxiety is given to false predictions.
7) Because by approaching you are doing what you WANT TO DO. By not approaching you are setting yourself up for regret the next day.
-Mystery on approach anxiety:
“You can feel that horrible feeling for 3 seconds or 10 minutes you choose”
“we’re not after confidence, were after competence, there’s a difference”
“this game is 100 times more difficult than anyone can imagine, but its 1000 times more rewarding
