Hey, folks! I'm based in Los Angeles, and as anyone who lives here knows, people are pretty cold; you're lucky to get somebody to look at you on the street. I'm a newbie interested in trying out the Newbie Challenge, but I find it really hard to gird my loins when people won't even make eye contact. Does anybody who's been in LA for a while have a specific method for opening with people during the day in Los Angeles, or do you just grit your teeth (or rather smile) and do it? Thanks in advance.

I lived in LA for 8 months at one time. I didn't do a lot of approaches, but when I saw an attractive woman I'd sometimes approach. All in all I ended up f clozing only 1 girl. Yep, only 1 girl in 8 months. Pretty sad, eh. I came close to f clozing 3 other girls. It was tough because I didn't have my own place.

Your right, a lot of people are cold, but if you stay positive, confident and friendly looking approaching shouldn't be too bad. Another important point is to have a solid opener. Don't wing your opens. Have your lines and your whole opening technique planned out. Know exactly how you are going to get that number cloze. I have developed my opener and it's very solid and works more than 50% of the time when I use it.
