Hey guys I just wanted to share some of this little routine I've developed. It helped me full-close a hired gun (bar maid) this week, so that finally made me feel it was something worth passing along! I guess this popped out because I am actually a Pianist (Music Student) but there's absolutely no reason you can't blag this anyway if you're just out there for some fun!
I tend to play this up by wearing a nice shirt, waistcoat and jewellery to look a bit arty. You gotta look the part for it to feel authentic, right?
Also note that in this particular bar I was surrounded by average dressed chumps who were drooling over the barmaids all night, so that helped to differentiate myself from the crowd!
This particular time, I stood out as interesting enough for the Gun to open conversation with me. I played the non-threatening "disinterest" card and looked different to everyone else, but you can play your openers any way you like.
As soon as you get asked "so what do you do?" there's a whole playing field available from three simple words: I'm a Pianist!
Firstly women generally seem to find creative/musical people attractive. Lots of people play the guitar or play in bands, but there's something about the vibe of a piano. I feels sophisticated and romantic somehow?
I throw in lines like "I've always been amazing with my hands. They're off duty tonight though, so it's a shame you'll never get to feel them."
And you can project with lines like "If you're lucky, I'll give you a lesson sometime"
But the absolute clincher for me is when they say (and interestingly they nearly ALWAYS say this) "I'd love to be able to play the piano!" -
Go Kino:
"You really want to play the piano? Let me look at those hands!"
When she shows you her hands, examine them for a few moments and reply with something like:
"Pffft, they're not piano hands, they're Vodka and Coke hands (or whatever)"
If you can try and guess her favourite drink for this line, that always gets a smile too!
"You might take some work, but I could make a musician out of you if you think you have what it takes!" etc.
If anyone else can think of some great Pianist lines post 'em on up!
If you try this, I hope you have the same luck I have!
