I think alot of guys tells the FTC:s in a bad way.

For example. Here we have pretty much the same words commonly used
in FTC:s.

1. "...this will only take a minute..."
2. "...I only have a minute..."

1. This line is major DLV - it implies you dont wanne take up there time and
you are allready giving excuses for talking to them.

2. This line is DHV - it implies your a busy guy having a lot of things going on
and it suggest they should be gratefull your taking time talking to them.

I think this is important even though you say
"This will only take a minute, I have to get back to my friends"
The damage is allready done.

very interesting observation and no you're not over thinking at all. the first quote definitely makes one sound needy and asking for attention. the latter is more "listen or it's your loss". thanks
