You can use opinion opener. Ask her what she think about some T-shirt, shoes etc.
Or if u see her buying or trying something you can neg her about it saying something like: "Hey that looks really good, I think I may buy that ____(stuff) to my 9 year old sister, she will loooove it."

If she's all by herself, you can go direct.

I like Sinn's direct opener.
