I think meeting girls online is something useful, tbh most of the F-close were online.

Boosting the confidence is something am not sure about, but definitely not in my case, maybe worse because when you meet the girls and you're online used to online chatting you find difference, in response timing and stuff.

That's my opinion.

Actually, I think it can be a great confidence builder, provided you keep online and the real world separate.

The equivalent of a F-close, online, would be webcam sex.
If you can webcam-close girls regularly, it will make you look at pickup in a whole different light: it doesn't matter if you don't get a girl, if you blow it, if she's not into you... etc. You start to realize that you can just as easily get someone else.

You stop looking at HBs as if they were something special, which is one of the thing that would distinguish your AFC from your PUA.

Also, online (in chatrroms) is great from practicing openers, transitions and routines, and memorizing them... It also gives you a bit more time for improvisation... Basically, it helps you take baby steps.

Sure, timing will be off, and there are a whole lot of dimensions that are lost, but the online game can be a great confidence booster imho.
