Be careful with the bratty little sister remark... I would recommend making sure she's playful and intelligent enough to tell that's a joke before you throw that out there. Some girls take it literal and get offended by it (sigh) some people.

Being witty/cocky online usually just isn't the best route to go but don't confuse this as a "don't be funny at all" statement.

You might even be able to just be direct with her, tell her she looked interesting and you wanted to get to know her and noticed you and whoever were mutual friends.

Usually if you send a playful opener and the only response you get is "Do I know you?" they're not the playful type and can take the little responses and things quite seriously.
