I have gotten laid using online dating, but man it's been a struggle. And I believe one of the reasons why is because I have a hard time deciding which photos are good, and which photos are bad. I've done a couple of photoshoots, but none of the photos I've gotten from them, have helped my results online. I learned that having a higher quality shot of yourself doesn't help you out.

I've tried several different ways of getting critiques of my photos:

-HotOrNot: I don't trust HoN because it's way too easy to get an 8.5+ rating in your photos.

-OKCupid's MyBestFace: It's done a good job rating my photos extremely harshly. I usually get 60% on my photos. I've only gotten 70% rating on one of my photos, but when I put that photo up, I get negative replies from women ("You're too young," "I already have a boyfriend."). I think the problem with MyBestFace is that different women rate you, and a woman's opinion on a photo isn't reliable. She could picking photos based on what she THINKS is the right choice (e.g. the nice guy), or she could be feeling horny at one moment and decide to pick the jerk.

-Women from the online dating sites: I've asked a few women about some of my photos. But they could say they "like" a photo, but that doesn't necessarily attract them. Maybe when they hate photos, that's what they're attracted to (e.g. the wifebeater mirror shot)?

-Alpha male guys: It's really difficult to assess opinions from other PUAs because they have subjective views too. I don't think your WINGs will have the best idea of what makes a good photo, especially if they don't use online dating.

I've learned some ideas of what makes a good and bad photo.

Bad photos:

-If you have your past girlfriends in there, or you're trying to show off the girl in your photo. (I'm not too sure about the halfway crop technique though. I've had mixed results with it.)
-You have a forced smile or forced facial expression. It's subcommunicates DLV.
-If you have bad taste in fashion and your photo shows that (I had one photo of myself with my hands in my pockets, bad body language)

Good photos:

-You doing something interesting (e.g. canoeing or skydiving)
-You in a nightclub/rave (I put a photo of myself at a rave, and that has improved my results)


So yeah, I'm struggling to figure out the photos part of online dating. Like I said, I do get laid occasionally from POF, but I honestly think I could be doing much better and getting laid with much hotter women. Any suggestions or advice, or ideas of what photos I can take of myself?

I've had awesome results using pictures with other girls in it. Why? Because when I'm messaging the girl i let her know I'm the sh*t and lots of girls love me. Which in turn makes her want me as well.

I've used pics at clubs, bars, whatever. The 1 key is whenever using a picture with other friends in it, make sure you're the best looking there. If you're not, bad picture.

A picture is worth a thousand words and girls will know a lot about you from a picture. So yes you're right, make sure everything looks good, good posture, body language etc.

Usually you will get told if you have a nice picture by a girl, i don't know if this will help. btw i'm no pua, just some experience

Ah okay, I think you know you have yourself good photos when a girl compliments you, without you ever bringing it up.
